Parliamentary Papers
This collection provides access to all of the parliamentary papers (legally protected documents and reports) presented to (tabled in) the Parliament of Victoria from 1851 to November 2022.
The collection is fully searchable and you can download PDFs of all the documents.
Originally a wide variety of documents were parliamentary papers. Then the series was restricted to reports which might need legal protection or where its author had a special relationship with Parliament. In December 2022, Parliament stopped using the term ‘parliamentary paper’ and instead such documents now are referred to as ‘requiring additional protection’ or having been ‘published by order, or under the authority of, the Parliament’.
Not all documents tabled in Parliament were parliamentary papers. You can find more documents in the tabled documents database https://new.parliament.vic.gov.au/parliamentary-activity/tabled-documents/#search-for-parliamentary-papers. That database also includes documents given additional protection since 2022.
